Robot Boy:

Technique: 2D animation

Target audience: 8 - 14 year olds

Purpose: Entertain

How effective: Very effective


Robot Boy is a 2D animation produced by a French production company named Alphanim and designed by Jan Van Rijsselberge. It first aired in the UK on 1st of November 2005 on Cartoon Network, and later in America on 28th December 2005 as part of a sneak peek of cartoon Networks "Sneak Peek Week". With a target audience of 8 - 14 year olds the show has a purpose to entertain the viewer by making simple jokes and with the action the show has to offer. The story behind the show is about a professor named Moshimo making robot boy for a kid named Tommy Turnbull, but and evil professor wants to take away robot boy and rule over the world, so professor Moshimo makes robot boy more high tech will build in defence so that he can protect himself and his new friend Tommy Turnbull. The technique used for making the animation is 2D animation with twining. This is done so that the episodes are made quick but also look quality. The target audience for this show ranges from 8 - 14 year olds with a purpose to entertain. It is very effective at entertaining because of the simplicity and the simple story of main character vs the antagonist. 


One Punch Man:

Technique: Anime

Target audience: 15 - 20

Purpose: Entertain, Action

How effective: Extremely effective

One Punch Man is an Japanese Anime with the first season being directed by Shingo Natsume when being announced on March 10, 2015. Before the show aired as Anime it was before made as a Manga by One Tomohiro with the manga being in total of 26 volumes. But for the series itself, it talks about a guy named Saitama and his encounter with other monsters. From his past it shows us that before he saw himself as a hero he was just like other people, working everyday and finding his life boring and he always wanted to take down monsters with a singular punch. He then started training extremely for 3 years and achieved what he always dreamed of but as a sacrifice, he lost his hair. In summary, he is a hero for the fun of it punching monsters away whenever he feels like bein a hero or if he suddenly encounters a monster. The target audience for the animation is for teenagers age from 15 - 20 years old as to introduce them to action and some comedy along side it. The purpose of the anime is to Entertain the viewer and to show incredible action made by the superhero. The effectiveness of the Anime is very good as it is a good for letting the teenagers getting into Action/Comedy genres and is good as showing what this genre of anime has to offer.

Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs:

Technique: 3D animation

Target audience: 8 - 20

Purpose: Entertain

How effective: Very effective

Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs is a 3D animation produced by Sony Pictures Animation and aired in 2009. The film is loosely based on the 1978 children's book of the same name by Judi and Ron Barrett with a similar story of a town with food raining from the sky. The story and script is also similar with the book but instead of the town naturaly having raining food it instead happens from a young scientist named Flint Lockwood and his invention of creating food by changing the molecules of water's molecules. The target audience for the movie is for children of eight years old up to adults of age 20. Even though the movie is made in 3D it also uses the principles of 2D animations such as squash and stretch etc. The goofiness and the silliness of the characters is what add to the humor of a young audience while still staying suitable for an older audience. This movie comes with a purpose to entertain the people with the storyline and the characters included in the movie. The movie is very effective on doing what the producers planned and it is to make the show to entertain.

Wallace and Gromit:

Technique: Stop motion

Target audience: 5 - 15

Purpose: Entertain

How effective: Very effective

Wallace & Gromit is a British stop-motion animation made by Nick Park. The franchise consists of four short films and one film with two famous characters named Wallace & Gromit. Wallace is electric cheese-loving inventor while Gromit is his silent yet loyal and intelligent dog. Most of the old shows of Wallace and Gromit are all about how Wallace shows off Gromit his invention and it can either go well on the first time or fail as an invention. The target audience for the show is for kids from age 5 to 15 with a purpose to entertain the audience. This is very effective since there aren't any violent scenarios or any show of harm during the show since its all about two good friends having adventures almost everyday.
